Real market price ranges - not a callback promise. Rates as of July 2026.
Where these numbers come from
These are typical market ranges for car transport within India, checked against published rates across the industry. They include transit insurance and GST at 18%, and door pickup within 15 km of the origin city. They exclude expedited slots, storage beyond 48 hours, and declared values above ₹40 lakh. Your exact price depends on the vehicle, the route and the pickup date - call or WhatsApp us and we will confirm it in writing before you book.
We publish this because almost nobody in Indian vehicle transport does. Search any route and you will find four sites quoting four different ranges, none of which explains its basis. A number you cannot trace is not a price, it is a guess with a currency symbol.
Why a single per-km rate is meaningless
Loading effort is fixed regardless of distance, so short moves always cost more per kilometre. Anyone quoting one flat per-km figure is guessing.
| Distance | Hatchback | Sedan | SUV / MUV |
|---|---|---|---|
| 400 km | ₹15/km | ₹18/km | ₹21/km |
| 1,200 km | ₹7/km | ₹8/km | ₹10/km |
| 1,800 km | ₹5/km | ₹6/km | ₹7/km |
| 2,200 km | ₹5/km | ₹5/km | ₹6/km |
Based on the lower bound of each open-carrier range. Enclosed transport adds roughly 35%.
Calculator questions
How accurate is this car transport cost calculator?
It uses the same rate table our dispatch desk quotes from, so for a standard vehicle on a corridor we run it is accurate. Where we have a scheduled corridor the tool flags it and uses the real measured distance and transit spread. For other city pairs it estimates road distance, so treat the range as indicative and confirm with us.
What is included in the estimate?

Why do other websites quote such different prices for the same route?
Because most of them are lead-generation sites rather than transporters, and their numbers are estimated rather than measured. It is common to see four sites quote four ranges for one route that differ by three times. We publish where our figures come from so you can judge them.
Does the price change after pickup?
No. Once we confirm a written quote against the vehicle you described, that is what you pay. Renegotiating at the doorstep is the most common complaint in this industry and it is not how we work.
How much does car transport cost per km in India?
It is not linear - short moves cost more per kilometre than long ones because loading effort is fixed regardless of distance. A 400 km hatchback move works out around ₹15/km, while the same car over 2,000 km falls to roughly ₹5/km. Quoting a single per-km rate is a red flag.
